In short
Floating ramps do not help dogs over the wall of an above-ground pool. This CHOOSEU ramp does: a 61-inch reinforced plastic ramp on telescopic legs that adjust to pool walls from 33 to 63 inches. Remove the legs and it doubles as a car or sofa ramp.
Best forFrame or wooden above-ground pools, dogs under 50 lbs (or more with a counterweight).
Key features
- Adjustable legs for 33–63 in pool walls
- No inflation, no tools
- Non-slip steps
- Converts into a car/sofa ramp
What we liked
- One of the few above-ground solutions
- Quick to set up
- Useful outside the pool
What we liked less
- Mixed reviews (3.1/5)
- Needs a counterweight for dogs over 50 lbs
- Narrow 16 in tread
How it works
A rigid ramp rests on telescopic legs inside the pool and hooks over the wall. It is the only kind of ramp that helps a dog climb over the wall of an above-ground pool. Heavier dogs need a counterweight at the bottom.
Setup tips
- 1Hang a counterweight on the bottom hook for heavier dogs
- 2Check the legs sit flat on the pool floor
- 3Teach the climb on dry land first
